Hello

I've hardly ever posted on here, but I've spent the last couple of months trying to condense and combine a large portion of the information in the current EP sourcebooks into a easy to use database/reference in excel.

It was mainly inspired when I first got into EP and tried using the character creators that were available at the time, which were awful. I haven't finished working on it yet, but I just noticed the whole "Singularity" thing.

From what I was able to read, I take it that is a high quality character creation program, is that right? If so, would people still be interested in my version? I'm not entirely sure how I would put it on here anyway as it's now 1.6mb. Assumedly I'd have to host it somewhere else and link it. It's a pretty nifty thing, I've used quite a lot of VBA and userforms in it.

I would love to see something

I would love to see something better than Kindalas' Excel Character Creation Sheet. I've been idly scratching something by myself, but it is still an excel sheet. If you created something akin to singularity I would probably use it extensively.

Singularity is high quality

Singularity is high quality in the same way that Harbour Freight tools are high quality. That is to say it looks okayish for a day or two then breaks spectacularly. When you take it back with questions the staff proceed to look right through you.

For the love of the ETI, post the sheet. Maybe it'll be helpful, certainly cannot be worse.

There is Agency (you'll have to google it, because it's late at night where I am and I'm trying to get to bed), but it's not recently updated. Singularity hasn't been well-updated either and has stability issues (or maybe it doesn't, but they changed up how to get it [it's on PS's website, rather than the EP site, I think?] and I'm too lazy to be bothered about it), and costs money.

I'd honestly like to recommend Singularity, and I would... if it worked decently. It just doesn't have the reliability to use, and I remember having some angst (I got the group license, so I had five or six people with varying degrees of computer/EP savvy trying to use the system) with a lot of the various things. There were major, not difficult to find, errors that were left unfixed and tons of ways to wind up with players accidentally doing things they didn't think they were doing.

Combine it with the fact that we used houserules for a couple minor things, which was just enough of a straw to break the camel's back and not make Singularity work well for us.

Heh fair enough. The database aspects work fine, but I haven't yet finished the character creation aspects (well, I've just now finished the package character creation, but the lifepath one is still pretty buggy, and I haven't finished the traditional character creation). I'll link a version here when I get home from work, I'd be glad to hear feedback.

The lifepath character creation works most of the time, but I know there are a few bugs in it. Let me know if you find anything else that breaks or is incorrect, or even with recommendations for additional content :)

I should probably mention

I should probably mention that it only works with macro's enabled, so you won't be able to use it on any tablet or phone (as far as I'm aware, excel for mobile and tablets doesn't allow macros).

Edit: Also realised this should now be in Homebrew, so moved it and amended the title.

Excellent work, SignifiedKaos.

The only glitch I've come across is in the Life path step 9 when rolling up the Post Fall Focus Result. The 1d10 roll is incompatible with the Specialisation result from step 6 - Adult Pre-Fall Path, which requires a 1d100 roll.

Your definition of horror is meaningless to me.......

Can I clarify the issue you've found. So on Step 6: Adult Pre-Fall Path you roll specialization, then the next roll down is "Adult Pre-Fall Path Faction" which becomes a D100 (for the specialization) and should set the "Adult Pre-Fall Path" at 6.12.

Then when you get to Step 9: Post Fall Path, the Post Fall Focus should force you to roll a D10 on 6.12 because the last thing you rolled was a specialization, or it'll make you roll a new path.

Which bit of that failed?

I know there are several issues with the Lifepath Character Creation, it has so many different possible outcomes that I find it difficult to track the bugs!

When I get to this part, and hit the roll button, there are only three results, two of which force a reroll.
1: Artist,
2: Async, &, (reroll)
3: Async Adept, (reroll).
I'm now not sure if that is accessing the wrong table or if the Specialisation from step 6 is causing some hang-up.

It is quite a useful tool - I will be using it in the future.

Oh, also, in section 12, the Firewall and Gate-Crashing events are swapped. Both generate gate-crashing events.
