Just completed designs for 2 dice, one has an "EP" for the "0", the other sports an image of an Eclipse with a sunburst on the upper hemisphere (based on this image http://www.tibetmap.net/SolarEclipse/SolarEclipse2009Jul22-s.jpg). Used the template provided by Q-Workshop to do it and the ITC Binary font (the font used in the "Sunward" sourcebook image) for numbers. Have both a D10 and D100. Anyone want to see em? Send me an email at
Haven't run this by Q-Workshop yet, but both appear well within their capacity to create.
They do look very nice, especially in white-on-black. Good job, that man!

So I was planning on submitting my dice designs to the folks at Q-Workshop and ran into a slight catchet from them... they want some sort of graphic upon all sides of the dice. I'll bite, I re-did both the "EP" version as well as the "Eclipse" one with a archytypal "tech ring" that encloses each number and logo within (the ring actually extends off the die face but it's upper and lower parts intersect over the top and bottom of the number/logo. Wanna see em? Email me at
So, what's wrong with an incidental likeness to a symbol that is commonly used by earth-based religions?
Besides, it's an eclipse, not a crescent moon.
But mostly, I really don't see the problem you're apparently seeing.
The problem I'm seeing is that if it's easily confused for something else, it's just not distinctive enough. In short, it has to look like a dice that's all about EP; if it's too easily confused for being about fantasy, or about Wicce, it's not doing its job. I don't share the concern presented by ITMNBN (hence my obviously poor attempt to clarify my own concern), as I do not personally care if a given religion might or might not be offended by the use of something loosely like their religious symbol. I care that the dice is distinctive. I hope that clarifies things.
Thanks for the preview - I must say that while the EP dice are cool I really like the eclipse version - it captures the essence of the title better than EP.
I like it too. I'll let you guys know if Q-Workshop shows interest in doing it.
Yes it does. And not only that, I was being an a$$. Sorry.
I like the helix idea, by the way.
No worries; until things progress beyond text-based communication, we're stuck with all the joys of accidental miscommunication. Not that communicating face-to-face is necessarily always less fraught with such. ;)
Quite. Are you saying I don't know how to communicate!? You callin me a technonoob!?
Ah, the internetz...:P
