body mounted gear on synths
I want to make an arachnoid synth. Is there any official opinion as to mounting gear on a synth like this? Say a breadcrumb navigation mounted in or on the abdomen? Any kind of gear that might normally be semi passive (not nessesarily hand held to use) and accesable via mesh interface? Like say a chassis capacity or something?

Easy way: Take magnetic system and have these items be in metallic containers/shells. Now they stick to you wherever you want for as long as you need them to.

ooooh, handn't thought of that. Is the magnetic system that selective? Can it be activated/deactivated per limb/body section? A cool solution, but I was hoping for some input on internally mounted accessories. Say each synth having one maybe two slots for non-cyber type installs. Internally powered direct access. More for the sake of the smaller synths like the arachnoids and dragonflys.

If you have Eelware, you can supply power to your magnetically coupled accessories, and if you have skinlink, you can control them directly even without wireless. This isn't exactly what you're looking for, but it will cover most things you could need.

You could use the internal weapon mount enhancement for cost purposes. As far as slots are concerned, it's all GM handwaving.

Yeah we didn't include rules for this sort of thing, because we wanted to avoid too much bookkeeping, so the rule is basically "use common sense." So equipping an arachnoid shell with some small gear items should be no problem, but if the players starts going crazy with items or adding really heavy/bulky stuff, the GM should rein it in.
