It would be nice if there was a button that showed both all the new posts since my last visit, and any new posts to threads that I posted to.

Actually one of the best forums I've ever been on was the Battletech Forum ( http://www.classicbattletech.com/forums/ ). It is very easy to navigate to new messages and replies.

The forum very, very badly needs this. Going through all subforums browsing for new posts just doesn't work.

Ok, once you're logged in check for a little link at the right hand side just under your user name. Should be labeled : New Forum Posts
This is a test page for the slice of data you want - so let me know if that seems to be accurate. If so I'll make it a nicely formal image and link from the forum to it.

Very good. Works like a charm.
My only comment is the coloring of the "updated" column. It shows up as white on light-gray in Firefox and is a little hard to read.

After some extensive testing for performance - the link is now in place as a button at the top of the forum. In additiona I've turned on the feature for the forum to track subforum replies... the only risk there is a possible performance hit, so it might go away if we see major lag.

I like the New Posts button, but it'd be nice if there were a "Mark All as Read" button on the New Posts page. Right now I go to the New Posts button, open some of the new posts I want to read in new tabs, and I have to go back to mark the rest as read.

Could you also put the New Posts button on the logged in screen. That way I don't have to hit the Forums, and then the New Posts button.

Or just have the logged in screen redirect to the forums. I'm not sure there's any other reason to log in at this point, so it would make sense to just redirect straight to the forums.

That would work as well. Either way I would love to see some of the inefficient clicking removed.

I made another thread to ask for the New Posts button since I didn't know this was here. Shame on me. Anyway, some method of moving between threads or forums directly from a thread would be nice. I'm not a fan of having to push the "Top" link, then a Forum link, and then finally the New Posts link. I imagine that it also causes some lag.
