Awesome. Do want.

Though I have to admit the picture is nowhere as awesome as the chimp-octopus cage match of Panopticon

The Jovian Republic and the Titanian Commonwealth in one book...how could I possibly resist? And I quite like (what I presume is) the cover art, too.

Rimward! Yay! Been looking forward for this book for a long time. Especially looking forward to reading about Locus, Titan, new morphs, the reputation economy and the new example characters.

Hell! I'm looking forward to reading about it all!

Pic looks like alternate version of the art from page 245 in core book. New sleeve perhaps?

I'm very much looking forward to hearing more about Titan and the Jovian Republic. As interesting as anarchists are, those two things are the top of my list.

I just hope the writers aren't as crazy with the Jovies as they were in the core book...

I'm pretty confident that the writers will give us a Jovian Republic that will make a good antagonist for games as well as being fun and interesting for loyalist PCs.

Consdering what the writers have stated in interviews, I would be quite surprised if the Jovian Republic was portrayed as either being a viable state, or containing a viable-state-in-waiting inside. I would be surprised if this was the case for any bioconservative organization written by the official authors.

I don't know what's causing that for you. Maybe Imageshack was temporarily down. Whatever the case, it looks fine to me.

It's just a placeholder; the Rimward cover is still in progress.

Sell sheets are created for distributors and retailers; they deal entirely with the print version.

Thank you Adam.
A couple of questions:
:Where can we expect to see the cover for Rimward?
:Is there any estimated date for any previous, internal art peeks for fans?
:Could you give us some general view on how JR will be presented(will it be more nuanced grey state, or more black and white situation from the main rulebook)?

No, sorry. We have releases before Rimward still to work on and promote -- time spent promoting Rimward to fans now is time that we don't think is well-spent, because then we get you all hyped for months and nothing to spend your money on.

Huh. I've checked it on multiple occasions, so it's not a one-time thing. I'll look again once I'm back home in the States, though. Might be this ISP or some geographic oddity.

Are we going to get an update on the release date for this at GenCon?

Of course, I'm super excited about Panopticon (the ToC is ridiculously awesome), but I'm almost foaming at the mouth for a full look at outer system.

Panopticon, Rimward... Oh god this year is going to be good.

Not to mention we had Sunward and Gatecrashing earlier this year/end of last. And best of all the fancy new paper stock.

I am so looking forwards to this book. The outer system is the most interesting setting to me, especially once you get past Saturn and major governments. Hopefully the Jovians are a little less cartoonish, though. They need to get some portrayal that shows them feeling like they're the heroes and everyone else is the villian to help explain them a little more.

The GenCon panel audio was posted, and they mention that they are in the "draft phase" of Rimward, so I'm doubtful of a 2011 release. Of course, I don't want to rush the magic, but anyone thinking it will get out of draft in the next four months might be disappointed.

Of course, my birthday is in January, so that would fine for me. Smile

Well, they indicated that it will happen within 3-6 months(with more likely being 6 months). Next year from what I hear they plan Player's Guide called for now "Transhuman". Hope we get options how to play Argonauts and other factions. After that a sourcebook on Firewall/Threats and campaign book.
Impressive plans !

Damn, that sounds tasty. My only lament is that it'll likely be quite a while before we get to see any of it. Sad

Has there ever been any indication of future "NPC File" packages, or other similar mini releases? I've found the first one highly useful, but I would appreciate more variety.

They have said that they want to try and get a web only (adventure/NPC files/infodump type stuff) releases once a month. This was their plan all along, but the Catalyst/Sandstorm drama, and gearing up to handle everything themselves, has put them behind. I do seem to remember hearing about plans for another NPC files, so you might be in luck.

I'm terrible at creating NPCs, so this has always been a weak point for my campaigns. I really wish there were more sample NPCs for various settings.

Have you checked out NPC Files 1: Prime yet?

And of course, every published adventure has some NPC stats that can be fold, spindled, and mutilated for your own campaign ... Smile

Hey, I know it's technically against the protocol, but the Rimward sell-sheet says that the release was to be in Q3 2011, which is almost past us. i also know that there have been various delays and shenanigans and such like, which have led to Panopticon being released a bit later than expected.

So just, you know, on the off chance that you might be able to say, maybe a bit on the sly, just whether, just slightly, just possibly, if, you know, you could tell us, maybe, if Rimward is still likely to be a 2011 release?

Maybe?

There was a meet and greet at GenCon the other month, during which they talked about their release schedule and how everything is going timewise. Back then it was 3-6 months out, ranging closer to the 6 months side of things. So I guess there is still the off chance that we might get it in 2011, but I would not hold my breath. I am expecting it (Using my awesome powers of guessing!) for Feb2012.

Any sell sheets left on the Sandstorm site should be considered out of date; we don't have the functionality to update them there and they have yet to remove them.

Rimward is a Q1 2012 release at this point. We'll have some electronic stuff out before then!

Cool! Thanks Adam.

Sadly, some of us weren't able to make it to GenCon to get the good oil on all that's going down. Small matter of living on the wrong continent.

Ta!

Can we expect anything new from PHS in this holiday season, beyond Panopticon?

some variations/details for the reputation system on the Titan game info part
like how group and corporations work, for example
Oh, and fluff stuff about rep, too, so we know how the people see it from the inside

For them, it's real life stuff, not some rules and scores on a character sheet, it's what keeps a roof above their head and the fabber stocked and functional, it's how they're admited or not in college.
Look at the way a sport jock's reputation on the field can get him in top universities, sometime with appartment and-or cars and other prep advantages
Imagine what it's like on Titan, or even on Mars

I like that - I've struggled at times bringing this to life for my players, and some mechanics would help.

First and foremost, I look forward to seeing what's in store beyond Saturn (Ice Giants, Trans-Neptunian Objects/Scattered Disk, etc.). You know, the frontiers of the System Smile

Cover art looks sweet. Slitheroids are awesome, aren't they?

Updated feb 8 with a Q1 release date, that brings my hopes up. I was also a bit afraid there were bigger problems... I'd still love an official word on the delay. I know stuff like that happens and that's why some developers never say anything, but I don't really see this community raging over delays.

I'm not worried about the delays. I'd rather it be awesome than here right now. Well, I'd rather see it here right now and awesome. But I know how it is when you're trying to manage budget, timeline, and quality in a deliverable. You get two, but never all three.

Re: Rimward Sell Sheet Goodness

Hey all,

As most of you know, we have to give "advance" release dates to book distributors and the like, hence the projected dates on sell sheets. Beyond those projections, we try not to comment on release dates until we have solid street dates for at _least_ the electronic release and hopefully the print release as well.

Rimward is late. Very awkwardly late. We're working on it, while trying to keep other projects moving so everything else doesn't slip horribly.

When we have good news, you guys will know about it.

(In the meantime, we did just launch a new website and RPG ... I haven't made a front page post about it yet but I will do so shortly. If you haven't seen that news yet, peek at posthumanstudios.com to see!)
