Re: back from the dead

well... that went ok...
big message dense and jumping in at the deep end.
So Callisto, Jupiter and the Junta, looking at the destination, I feel that an Infolife designed to explore strange habitats and take samples of interesting life forms would fit the group quite well, but so would a criminal crow helping out some autonomists in a Callisto that is struggling with the Jovians ...
I don't know which way to go DM? and are u up for having me...
I think Sample(info) is eyeing up Eropa with it's little Coral reefs, but beady eyed Bead(crow) is looking into the interesting import export possibilities on Callisto and round Jupiter with all those ships going past...
I understand you guys don't want this to be a firewall type game, and I agree, it would be great to explore the setting further but I'm sure there are dangers and mysteries (which could kill us) all around. I'm particularly interested in the phrase in the bit about Eropa:
"might be the result of galactic panspermia, the slow diffusion of microbes through the vacuum of space aboard comets or asteroids."
-->a theory which I had come across before and is suitable to the setting. the idea that in the vacum of space half dryed up viri or bacteria float about ready to find a little niche a bit of energy and boom life starts and...
Right gone on long enough just trying to explain I understand it's not going to be a space station mystery with a big explosion every episode.
I'll post a more comprehensive character study soon. I'm just trying to get a feel for the characters and their reasons to be there.
Pity about Quince,I looked forward to meeting his Octopus Xpl--And I like you're rugged Dolphin, Grey.
hello others

Re: back from the dead

Creasy Stanislav and his muse Glitch.

Creasy is a scum bodyguard sleeved in a male fury morph with a wicked scar running from right ear across cheek and nose. Sustained in a fight with two Cape Baboons, during the Palembeng riot on Elysium a year ago, the scar gives his face a raked effect that most find disturbing. Creasy uses Glitch to assist in the shooting clipping and choping of fighting XP montages. He has released 3 videos so far. The last is mostly made up of sequenses captured during the riot. It shined a light on Consortium policy reguarding the down trodden. He uploads stripped versions (audio/visual only) of the montages to the mesh for free. He sells the full sensory versions on the black market to supliment his income. He made quite a bit of creds from the last video seeing as the EPM used hallucinagens and Baboons to disperse the crowd. Protecting a client while under the effects of hallucinagens and fending off Cape Baboons, the stuff of legends. However, legends run out of cash, he coasted on the XP sales to a second cousin that works on a cargo hauler headed for the rim. Fresh start, plenty of work, and a couple months with Trim Dog. How could he say no?

Since we already have one uplift in the group, and Quincey could well be joining with a second, I think we'd get a more interesting group if you took the infolife instead of the crow.

The junta probably won't be the theme of the "campaign", so you don't have to focus on that.

Sure. If you think you fit in, you're very welcome. I've tried to be very clear about what sort of players I have a hard time dealing with.

This is pretty funny. Normally I'd have to adjust stuff to tie in the chars, but both you and Grey are making chars that fit my first mission to the point I think you've hacked into my notes ;)

You should think about why Sample would want to continue working with the group though.

By all means, tell me what you want, and we should talk it over in the group. I have no problems with x-threats or exsurgents, it can make some great stories - I just don't want every mission to be about that.

There's only one explanation!

Magic!

On that note, i still have to look over Irving again and see if he still fits the whole "what i want" angle. Could be that i whip out something totally different, could be that i won't.
Yeah i'm a bit fickle about that.

Re: Your Ad Here

Re: [LFG]Central-y Europe for an online-game

I prefer monday evenings from 19 to 23:59 o'clock MEST.

MSqared MSqared's picture
Re: [LFG]Central-y Europe for an online-game

mmm... well Mondays are generally quite good for me too, this week I've gota take my mum to the hospital for an x-ray at 5pm so prob won't get back till 7 (8 in MEST) any way keep on trying to find gaps n stuff.

Re: [LFG]Central-y Europe for an online-game

Mondays and wednesdays are best for me. Tuesdays and thursdays can do with some coordination, I typically got MMA classes one of those.

I can't start until 20 though, have to get the kids in bed first.

Re: [LFG]Central-y Europe for an online-game

Mondays and Wednesdays are good for me too. It would be better to start at 20 for me as well (for the same reason).
I'm good to go when ever we want to start.

Re: [LFG]Central-y Europe for an online-game

I didn't notice that all of you had uploaded chars - I'll look at them!

MSqared MSqared's picture
Re: [LFG]Central-y Europe for an online-game

next mon would be good... I've a feeling Smokey's gona find my character a bit powered up... dunno maybe I need to invest a bit more in academics, and computer sciences, we could talk about it.

It's just that as Sample is an explorer he's usually first in and then runs away.

ps the Armour in EP is weird, can a modular synth even wear standard light armour?
Dunno I just whacked an armour on there.
If you've ever listened to the podcast Know Evil, Caleb always strip's his players to the bone as in most habitats you're not allowed to have lethal stuff. So the mission usually involves finding , smuggling or fabbing weapons just before it get's dangerous and that's part of the fun.

I regret once again that I must withdraw from this game. Ill post when I'm available again, and hopefully you guys have room.

Re: [LFG]Central-y Europe for an online-game

Sounding quite interesting... He's got more of a personality than the last one, though I can't see him so clearly...I like the Matrix like escape from some everlasting hell(reality), Sample has a similar dilemma because he was raised in a million iterated environments with thousand of forks of himself, he's never quite sure if this is reality or just another simulated test.
Though you're character maybe more independent than mine as Sample is always considering the importance of his research and wanting to live up to his Father's standards.
Any opinions DM? and pity about losing Matador, gona put a dampener on things.

Re: [LFG]Central-y Europe for an online-game

We're still a player short though, might be better to talk schedule when we get a 3rd player

GreyBrother GreyBrother's picture
Re: [LFG]Central-y Europe for an online-game

I think we may hear some good news in that regard from Quincey. But i won't hold my horses until he makes it official himself :)

Re: [LFG]Central-y Europe for an online-game

Back again with another player in tow. Do you all have space for two more players?

Hey I'm the second player Matator was talking about, was hoping to play something as boring as an honest cop.
Tuesdays works for me but have to throw in the towel at 11pm

I'm starting this campaign as a PbP over at rpol.net if anyone wants to join.

GreyBrother GreyBrother's picture
I for my part pass. I don't

I for my part pass. I don't want to play PbP, especially not EP. I am still looking for a Voice game, ideally with roll20 support.

Smokeskin Smokeskin's picture
It just seems that voice

It just seems that voice games always end up with people not being able to stick to the schedule or even get started. PbP is slow, but it gets done, and there is a benefit to having lots of time to think and plan. As a GM you need to do a lot of preparation and contingency planning to be ready to handle stuff in real time. And I'm a bit of forum junkie and this seems like a more productive use of my time, playing instead of just talking about playing :)

Btw, why do you "especially not EP"? Is there something about you feel is not suited to PbP?

jhfurnish jhfurnish's picture
If one or two of you folks...

...are interested in playing with us over Skype:

We're Americans playing at 8pm on Friday nights, EST. If you can somehow gig with that, make up a first-level character at 1200 CP. Our campaign is Firewall/Gatecrashing.

It would be interesting to have some European players. I'm the GM, native English speaker. However one of my players actually hosts the game on his PC since my tablet's version of Skype doesn't allow for groups.

Any takers?

Smoke: The thing is, all of

Smoke: The thing is, all of my EP games went south, one way or the other. PbP and Voice. And i do not like PbP very much because i tend to forget posting or loose interest in it. It doesn't reel me in.
The reason why not EP is simple: I somehow enjoy games like EP or Shadowrun even less in a text-enviroment, than i do by voice. Other games, i can do in PbP (Vampire the Masquerade for example). But i'd enjoy that more in a chat enviroment.

jhfurnish: I'd seriously love to, but that would be 2AM for me and my sleep schedule is already as fucked up as it can be. I can imagine it being a blast, but i gotta decline.
