Hello - New Player
Hello,
I am new player and just beginning to sink my teeth into the world of Eclipse Phase. This is my first traditional RPG--and the first for most of my friends--and I'm trying to get everyone fired up to try it. Most of my friends are either video game designers or tabletop minis players, having to read something is always a tough sell
I first saw Eclipse Phase at Gen Con 2010 and was almost talked into it on the spot. I've been an Extropian for almost ten years--since I first picked up the screen name--and the allure of a transhumanist game... well, it just seemed tailor-made for me.
It was great to meet the designers at this years Gen Con, where I was finally convinced to dive in. More specifically, a very nice lady in glasses whose name I didn't get explained the game to me very enthusiastically. I explained I was reluctant to get into it because I knew I'd end up buying everything. I'm glad you talked me into it!
(That cool picture of an Extropian snake person helped also)
If you haven't met the devs, they are friendly, wonderfully patient people and very charismatic (thanks for signing the book
)
Anyway, thank you for reading my intro. As far as the game goes I am reading it cover-to-cover. Just finished the blue world building pages, onto the mechanics. If anyone has advice for how I could present this game to others gamers who aren't yet RPG-players, I would appreciate it very much!
Steve
