Gathering folks together for an online game in EST.

I've decided to get the ball rolling and begin an online-based game in the Eastern Standard time zone. I'm in southern central NJ. I would like to run this using ooVoo. I have Fantasy Grounds II but haven't been able to concentrate on developing the specific tabletop variation for EP. I'd rather spend my rpg-gaming time GMing or playing EP for now.

I want to develop a long-running campaign. I'll be using Obsidian Portal to organize the game and my players. I'll send up the link for the established account soon. PM me in the meantime.

My PC is dead, going to Skype for EP online game.

Hello all - I've elected to use Skype instead of ooVoo (sorry if you've already downloaded it). This is because I'll be using my SmartTV to run the game by Skype video. (Video not required on your part.) More details shortly.

My Skype name: metaltoxin

Hello all - when you sign into Skype, add metaltoxin as the contact for me, the GM. I'll accept anyone who joins, since I made the account expressly for this game. More details, including the information for Obsidian Portal, coming soon. What's really good is that I managed to connect a keyboard to my TV without having to buy one. I just need a USB extension cord now.

Ok, it's shaping up.

I have several players incoming for daytime Sundays. First-level characters. I expect to begin running the game at noon EST, Skype, as ' metaltoxin '. Taking a max of five online players.

This was a response I sent to Snowflake which tells it all:

I'm not a hack'n'slash GM. I like storyline and characters, and dialogue. I recently ran a Pathfinder campaign over Fantasy Grounds II and found that people were tired of my NPC's talking - which was largely a hint that I wanted my PC's to talk, too, and they largely didn't want to get into the conversations, including the guy who claimed he was this massive roleplayer. I abandoned that campaign because of it and am now running EP because I get the sense that people actually want to roleplay in 'this corner over here'.

I think you need to at least look over the free quick ruleset they provide; thankfully the mechanics aren't particularly complex. Then, look at Panopticon and Gatecrashers. That should be sufficient. And you know what? Read the fiction pieces. You don't have to have the books to read them. You can get them for $1 apiece on http://www.rpgnow.com . I highly recommend them. They give you a perfect picture of the EP world in-a-glance, and they're great writing.

Yes, please send me your PC when you've completed him/her/it. And I suppose 1200 points is good. I'll put that up on the thread (the one I originated in the 'registry' section of the EP forum).

Thanks for communicating! Remember to add me on Skype, you haven't done that yet last I checked.

Scrapped...

Unfortunately, the game I was trying to organize via Skype for Sundays at noon has not worked out. I could only get one person to connect with me. I thank that person. In any case, I'm not sure what happened on the other end with Capitalocracy or with Snowflake.

Ok, let's try this again: starting a Firewall/Gatecrasher game.

Anyone who is seriously interested in playing, please go to http://www.ObsidianPortal.com and search for doomcrier after you sign up as a user (free). Then, once my page comes up, click on my Eclipase Phase campaign: http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/eclipse-phase-online-campaign . Once you sign up there, we can hold a vote on when/how to run the game. I have a paid OP account, so I can run votes and forums there. Hope to see you there.

Even though my previous game attempt was stillborn, I've continued to work on the campaign and it's seen a fair amount of development. C'mon aboard and check it out.

I've got the players for my new campaign...

...which will begin this Friday evening at 8pm, running online. It didn't take as much effort to scare up a proper group as I thought it would, once I became more flexible about which night on which I'd run the game. I have high expectations.

Great first session with my new group...

...and an excellent experience in my first session as a GM in Eclipse Phase. The system ran like a charm, and my story went over very well.

I expect a larger group and things even more in hand as I prepare for our second session on Friday, April 12.

I may also be running a live game...

...at a table at 'All Things Fun', a comic/games store in Berlin, NJ nearby where I live. I'll probably run the same adventure, but more polished after running segments first with my Skype group. Touching up my second installment presently so it can be as good as it can be pre-play.

Anyone living near Berlin/Lindenwold/Clementon NJ?
