Avatars
I was wondering something. The current way the website handles avatars looks a bit jarring. Almost the entirety of the site is done in dark blues/blacks, but the Avatar boundary is as white as can be.
Any chance we could have it as a dark blue/black that doesn't quite match the background, enough to keep a boundary? Not exactly a big thing, but its been bugging me for a while now.

What browser are you using? That may be the source of your problems. User info appears fine through Chrome for Linux for me.
Firefox. I have a script blocker, but the only thing it's blocking is google analytics.
I am also running Firefox with NoScript and the names look fine.
In this case, I have no idea.

What is your resolution size? Maybe that is the problem.
1440x900
Well I'm stumped.
Avatar borders are fixed now.
Re: the names thing - that is extremely odd. I'm using FF as well and seeing no trouble. It sounds like the text is wrapping around because the author pane doesn't have space enough to contain the word. Normally that would be some CSS oddity between browser configurations or types. hm. I've tweaked the CSS a little to try and give you some more space to see if that will help any.
If it doesn't: What version of FF, what resolution are you at, and do you view the site at fullscreen or partial screen for your browser? I'll see if I can replicate the circumstances. It definitely sounds like something local though, so I can't guarantee a fix. :-/
Thank you to the web team. The forums look better already.

Whatever you did fixed it for me. Thanks!

I agree. Even a black background would be better then white. Personally I would like to see a transparent background to the avatar.
